The Arab Open University (AOU) in Jordan celebrated the graduation of its 20th and 21st batches of Bachelor’s, Higher Diploma, and Master’s degree students, under the theme "Nashama Batch" (The Chivalrous Batch). The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Zakari, President of the Arab Open University in the Arab World, and Prof. Dr. Tahrir Hamdi, Director of the Arab Open University in Jordan, alongside invited guests, graduates' families, and members of the academic and administrative staff.
In his address during the ceremony, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal emphasized the importance of this milestone in the graduates' journey, commending their dedication and perseverance in completing their education, and congratulating both the graduates and their families on this achievement.
His Royal Highness recalled the founder of the university, the late His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz (may his soul rest in peace), noting that since its establishment, the university has been dedicated to building a solid academic institution with an outstanding reputation—one that reinforces the trust of society and employers in its graduates, while opening doors to success and excellence locally, regionally, and internationally. He added that the university continues to expand its mission to reach new communities, pointing to the launch of its 10th branch in the Kingdom of Morocco, and reaffirming its ambition to make education accessible to all.
HRH Prince Abdulaziz highlighted Jordan’s steadfast belief in the value of education and the ability of young people to shape their own future and that of their nation. He expressed his appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah for their continuous attention to education and support for its development, praising the university's role in charting clear pathways for youth, fostering development, and driving empowerment.
His Royal Highness also expressed pride in His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II's focus on Jordanian youth across entrepreneurship, innovation, and achievement, viewing them as a vital social and intellectual force capable of building the future.
For his part, the President of the Arab Open University in the Arab World, Prof. Dr. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Zakari, pointed out that the university ranked 64th globally for Quality Education according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. He stressed that this milestone reflects the university's success in offering high-quality education to diverse segments of society and highlights the contributions of its students and alumni in elevating its academic standing.
Similarly, the Director of the Arab Open University in Jordan, Prof. Dr. Tahrir Hamdi, affirmed that the graduation ceremony embodies the vision of the university's founder, the late HRH Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, who believed that education is a right for all and a lifelong journey. She added that the university's success across several Arab countries underscores its belief that community members are not merely builders of the future, but creators and producers of knowledge.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduates amidst an atmosphere of joy and pride. Students expressed deep pride in belonging to the university and gratitude to their professors, peers, and families who supported them throughout their academic journeys, ultimately crowning their perseverance and hard work with graduation.
