Discussion of a Master’s Thesis on the Media Strategy of the Saudi Ministry of Energy, with the Participation of Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan as an External Examiner
A master’s thesis submitted by the Saudi student Diana bint Nasser Al-Khamisi, entitled: “The Media Strategy of the Saudi Ministry of Energy in Supporting the Transition Toward Clean Energy: An Analysis of Discourse and Communication Tools,” was successfully defended in the presence of the examination committee,
a number of academics and interested attendees, as well as the student’s family members.
The thesis examined the media discourse of the Saudi Ministry of Energy and the communication tools it employs to support the transition toward clean energy. It also explored the role of media in enhancing public awareness of sustainability and renewable energy issues, in alignment with modern development orientations under Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, Dean of the College of Journalism and Media, participated in the examination committee as an external examiner from the Arab Open University. He provided scholarly feedback and an academic evaluation, praising the significance and timeliness of the research topic, as well as the scientific methodology adopted by the researcher.
The examination committee commended the research effort and the academic value of the thesis, noting its meaningful contribution to media studies related to energy and sustainable development. The committee approved the thesis subject to moderate revisions.
