Arab Open University – Jordan Participates in the Conference on Linguistics, Literary Studies, and Translation in a Global Context
Dr. Sami Al-Khawaldeh, a faculty member at the Arab Open University – Jordan (AOU), participated in the International Conference, "Linguistics, Literary Studies, and Translation in a Global Context – Bridges of Cultures," which was recently held at the Arab Open University – Lebanon, with the participation of a distinguished elite of researchers and academics from various countries.
During the conference, Dr. Al-Khawaldeh presented a research paper titled: "The Imbaba Terrorist Cell Trial: An Examination of Question Types and Conversational Flouting,"
In his paper, he presented a pragmatic linguistic analysis of the questioning techniques used in trials, highlighting the phenomenon of Conversational Flouting and its impact on the construction of meaning and the communicative context within judicial proceedings.
Dr. Sami Al-Khawaldeh's participation aligns with the Arab Open University's efforts to support scientific research and build knowledge and cultural bridges through participation in international scholarly conferences.
