Distinguished Lecture on “Interest-Free Microenterprise Financing” at the Arab Open University – Jordan
In a rich and engaging academic atmosphere, the Training, Community Service, and Continuing Education Center at the Arab Open University – Jordan, in collaboration with the National Microfinance Bank, hosted a distinguished lecture titled:
“The Traditional Path to Interest-Free Microfinance: A New Global Model”.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Badr-Eddin Abdelrahim Ibrahim, Senior Expert at the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), former Director of the Arab Open University – Bahrain, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
The event was attended by several academic figures, including Prof. Dr. Tahreer Hamdi, Director of the University, Dr. Anas Ghazalat, Deputy Director for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Dr. Mufid Abu Mousa, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, alongside a number of faculty and administrative members and professionals in the field of microenterprise financing.
The lecture highlighted the importance of this new model in financing small and sustainable projects. Professor Badr-Eddin discussed how the interest-free financing model has been implemented in various countries, shedding light on both the challenges and opportunities in this field, and its positive impact on both local and global economies.
The event also saw participation from students, academics, and professionals interested in microenterprise finance. The attendees engaged in meaningful discussions and idea exchanges on how to promote sustainable economic growth through interest-free financing of small enterprises.
