Awareness Lecture at Arab Open University – Jordan on Safe Antibiotic Use
The Deanship of Student Affairs at the Arab Open University – Jordan, in collaboration with the Tabrbour Comprehensive Community Health Committee, organized an awareness lecture titled "Safe Use of Antibiotics." The session featured student Israa Al-Momani, student Ahmad Al-Dubai, and Ms. Noor Al-Batta, with the presence of Dr. Samir Al-Sous and several members of the academic and administrative staff, as well as students.
The lecture covered several key topics, focusing on the difference between correct and incorrect use of antibiotics, the risks of taking them without a prescription, and emphasizing that their use for conditions like the flu and colds is a common mistake. The session also highlighted the importance of community awareness in reducing bacterial resistance to antibiotics and provided practical tips for their proper use.
The event witnessed notable interaction from the attendees, opening the floor for discussions and questions, as part of the university's ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and empower students to play an active role as health educators in the community.
