Arab Open University – Jordan Media Students Visit Directorate of Media and Community Policing
The Faculty of Media at the Arab Open University – Jordan organized a field trip for its students to the Directorate of Media and Community Policing of the Public Security Directorate. This visit aimed to enhance practical learning experiences and provide students with insights into the nature of security media work, community awareness mechanisms, and initiatives implemented by the Community Policing Department.
The students toured the Public Security Radio Station, where they learned about the processes of production, editing, and broadcasting. They also visited the facilities of the Community Policing Department and observed its community-oriented awareness and preventive programs.
Dr. Samar Makna'i, a faculty member accompanying the students, emphasized the importance of such field visits in refining students' media skills and bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. She noted that this initiative aligns with the Arab Open University's strategic plan, which focuses on preparing qualified media professionals capable of understanding and addressing community challenges with professionalism and responsibility.
The students expressed their appreciation for this valuable experience, which allowed them to engage directly with security media institutions and understand their vital role in serving the community and enhancing public awareness.
