The Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication at Arab Open University – Jordan, Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, participated in a dialogue seminar organized by the North Amman Cultural Forum under the title “The Role of Citizenship in Community Awareness: From Belonging to Responsibility,” in the presence of a distinguished group of academics, specialists, and professionals interested in cultural, community, and media affairs.

During the seminar, Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan addressed the role of collective awareness and the media in promoting the values of citizenship and social responsibility. He emphasized the importance of fostering respect for the law, equality, respect for diversity, and the public interest, and transforming these values from personal convictions into everyday practices and behaviors.

He also highlighted the pivotal role of the media in shaping community awareness, particularly in light of the growing influence of social media. He stressed the importance of accuracy, verification, diversity of perspectives, and distinguishing between news and opinion, contributing to the promotion of informed citizenship.

This participation reflects Arab Open University – Jordan’s active academic and community engagement, as well as its commitment to contributing to national dialogue on media and community issues and promoting awareness and social responsibility.
