Lecture on "The Impact of Mental Health in Combating the Scourge of Drugs" at the Arab Open University/Jordan
The Deanship of Student Affairs and the Mental Health Center at the Arab Open University, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) and in the presence of a representative from the Tabarbour Health Center, organized an awareness lecture titled: "The Impact of Mental Health in Combating the Scourge of Drugs." The event was attended by members of the faculty and university students.
An officer from the Anti-Narcotics Department participated in the lecture, reviewing the health, social, and legal damages of drugs. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts to combat this issue and discussed methods of prevention, particularly among the youth.
Furthermore, Dr. Mimas Kammour, Director of the Mental Health Center, spoke about the vital role of mental health in enhancing individuals' resilience against pressures and challenges, and its significance in preventing a slide into substance abuse.
This event is part of the joint efforts between the university and relevant authorities to raise awareness, prevent drug abuse, and instill positive behaviors and social responsibility among students.
