Amman – Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Arab Open University – Jordan, along with a group of students from the faculty, participated in two workshops organized by the Skills Enhancement Program in the Arab Region for Equality and Inclusion (WAN IFRA WIN).

The workshops focused on artificial intelligence tools in newsrooms, fact-checking false and misleading information, as well as digital safety and data protection. The sessions brought together a number of journalists and media professionals from local and regional institutions.

The workshops included practical demonstrations and interactive discussions on how to utilize artificial intelligence tools to enhance journalistic work, accuracy, and credibility. Participants also explored methods for verifying fake news and skills for protecting journalists and their data in the digital space.

During his participation, Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan emphasized the importance of such training programs in empowering media students to keep pace with the digital transformations taking place in the media industry. He also praised the WAN IFRA WIN Program for its role in developing the skills of young media professionals and promoting the responsible and professional use of modern technologies in journalism.
