Arab Open University – Jordan Participates in the National Forum on the Future of Media Education in the Digital Revolution Era
Amman – The Faculty of Media and Communication at the Arab Open University – Jordan, represented by Dr. Samar Makannay and a select group of students, participated in the national forum aimed at discussing the future of media education amid the digital revolution. The event was held at the Middle East University upon the invitation of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, and was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali, Minister of Government Communications Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions Prof. Dr. Dhaher Al-Sarayrah, along with the President of the Journalists Association, deans of media faculties, and a distinguished group of academics and experts in media and education.
This participation reaffirms the Arab Open University’s commitment to enhancing its presence in national events focused on the development of media education and keeping pace with the rapid digital transformations shaping the media sector.
Dr. Samar Makannay expressed her pleasure in taking part in the event and praised the importance of the discussions held, which centered on aligning academic programs with the needs of the digital job market, and the significance of integrating artificial intelligence tools into media curricula.
During the forum, several proposals and future plans were presented that align with national directives aimed at modernizing university education. These initiatives seek to strengthen graduates’ readiness to engage effectively in modern media environments and to keep pace with the curriculum reforms introduced by the University Curriculum Development Committee in this context.
