Arab Open University – Jordan graduate, international referee Awni Hassouna, has passed away
With hearts full of faith in God’s decree, the Arab Open University – Jordan family mourns its esteemed alumnus, Jordanian international referee Awni Hassouna, who passed away after a distinguished refereeing career spanning more than 27 years. He was the first Jordanian referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup, and continued to contribute to the sport as an international lecturer on the Laws of the Game.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, asking Allah to envelop him in His vast mercy, grant him a place in His vast paradise, and bless his family and admirers with patience and solace.
