Arab Open University – Jordan and the Royal Health Awareness Society Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Promote Health Awareness Among Youth
The Arab Open University in Jordan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Royal Health Awareness Society to implement a joint project in the field of health media. The initiative focuses on empowering students from the Faculty of Media to produce specialized media content that promotes health awareness among youth, particularly on topics related to reproductive health.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Arab Open University by its Director, Professor Dr. Tahrir Hamdi, and on behalf of the Royal Health Awareness Society by its General Director, Dr. Amal Al-Rafeej. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Anas Ghazalat, Vice Director for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, Dean of the Faculty of Media, and Professor Dr. Moayad Hmoudi, Director of the Center for Training and Continuing Education. From the Society's side, Reem Al-Fares, Youth and Community Engagement Program Director, and Yazan Wardat, Youth Program Manager, were also present.
Professor Dr. Tahrir Hamdi emphasized that this partnership represents a practical step toward strengthening students' role in community service by training them to produce health-related media content that addresses youth issues. She affirmed the university’s commitment to providing a supportive educational environment that responds to societal needs.
Dr. Amal Al-Rafeej expressed the Society’s pride in this partnership, which reflects its vision of investing in youth potential. She stressed the importance of health media as an influential tool in spreading awareness and changing health behaviors among peers, through youth-led initiatives under expert supervision.
Dr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, Dean of the Faculty of Media, noted that the MoU presents an applied learning opportunity for media students and contributes to bridging academic knowledge with professional practice, enhancing their readiness for the job market in specialized media fields.
This collaboration reflects the university’s commitment to principles of equity and inclusivity, and to providing applied educational opportunities that align with national and international standards.
