The Arab Open University – Jordan Organizes a Distinguished Cultural Day Reflecting Its Educational and Cultural Vision
The Arab Open University – Jordan organized a comprehensive cultural day under the patronage of the University Director, Professor Dr. Tahir Hamdi, and in the presence of the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Anas Ghazalat, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mufeed Abu Musa. The event was attended by members of the academic and administrative staff, university students, the local community, and students from partner schools.
This cultural day, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Learning Resources Center, aligns with the university's vision to enhance its cultural, educational, and societal roles. It reaffirms its commitment to supporting creativity and intellectual openness through diverse activities that blend academic and cultural dimensions.
The event featured several distinguished activities, including:
Educational and Digital Tools Exhibition: In collaboration with Al-Nasser Modern Schools, led by Director Dr. Jaafar Saleh, and the International Academy and Schools of Professionalism, represented by Science Supervisor Mr. Issam and Mathematics Supervisor Ms. Mona Abu Samra. The exhibition showcased student innovations and modern educational technologies reflecting the evolution of teaching methods.
Book Fair: Featuring several local publishing houses, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the latest literary and scientific publications.
Al-Aqsa Exhibition: Organized by the Al-Ahda Association, highlighting the historical and religious significance of Jerusalem.
Cultural Seminar: A distinguished session with Jordanian novelist Dr. Ayman Al-Atoom titled "Questions of Reading and Methodical Reading," offering profound insights into the importance of conscious reading in building awareness and knowledge. The seminar witnessed significant interaction from attendees and students.
Awards Ceremony: Recognizing winners of poster design, digital photography, and expressive drawings competitions aimed at combating smoking, as well as honoring academically outstanding students. The ceremony concluded in a celebratory atmosphere reflecting the university's commitment to fostering creativity and student excellence.
In his opening speech, Dr. Mufeed Abu Musa emphasized the university's ongoing commitment to supporting quality events that contribute to shaping student personalities, enhancing their cultural and national identity, and opening avenues for free thinking and knowledge.
Dr. Anas Ghazalat noted that the cultural day reflects the integration of academic and cultural aspects in university life, embodying the university's dedication to developing students' skills and broadening their horizons through extracurricular learning experiences.
