The Learning Resources Center at the Arab Open University – Jordan organized a specialized training workshop on the use of electronic library databases, attended by several faculty members, students, and individuals from various academic disciplines.
The workshop was delivered by Nisreen Abu Hussein, Electronic Resources Officer at Al-Hassan Library, Princess Sumaya University for Technology. It covered key aspects of utilizing EBSCO databases, which are among the most important electronic tools supporting academic and scientific research.
The workshop included a comprehensive introduction to EBSCO databases and their significance, followed by an explanation of advanced search techniques that allow access to accurate and reliable information. Participants also learned how to manage sources and references using effective digital tools. The session further demonstrated how to access full-text articles and academic research papers, concluding with an interactive discussion on best practices for employing these databases in research work.
In this context, Eng. Sinan Awad, Director of the Learning Resources Center, stated that the workshop aims to empower students and researchers to make the most of electronic research tools, contributing to the advancement of academic research and improving the quality of scholarly output.
This workshop is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance students' and researchers' capabilities in accessing reliable academic information and supporting their research journey through the use of cutting-edge library technologies.
