The Arab Open University - Jordan participated in the Global Media and Information Literacy Week Conference which was held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, from October 30–31, 2024. The conference was organized by  Jordan Media Institute in cooperation with UNESCO and the Ministry of Government Communication.

Princess Rym Ali inaugurated the conference on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. The university's participation was represented by Dr. Faisal Sarhan, the local Dean of the Journalism and Media Program; Dr. Khaled Al-Tahat, the local Dean of the Information Technology and Computing Program; Dr. Sulafa Al-Zoubi, Dr. Samar Maknai, Dr. Nasreen Thalji, and lecturer Shadia Al-Hindi, along with a group of journalism and media students.
