Dr. Mohammed Rasool Qtaishat began his work as Director of the Arab Open University in Jordan today, Saturday, October 9, 2021, and Dr. Qtaishat was chosen by the university administration in Kuwait.

Dr. Qtaishat holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in Canada in 2009 in the design of membrane desalination membranes by direct contact distillation. His thesis won first place in the Technology Challenge for Innovative Research at the Canadian level, and he obtained a master's and bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology.

In addition, Dr. Qtaishat registered four patents, the first of which is the design of innovative composite membranes for membrane distillation and associated manufacturing methods in 2012, and secondly the invention of nanocomposite mixed membranes for membrane distillation and various manufacturing methods also in 2012, and thirdly, the development of innovative methods for preparing polymerized and mixed layered membranes and a device for membrane distillation In 2014, fourthly, designing a membrane used in desalinating water using membrane distillation in 2019. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Qtaishat's inventions, according to a report issued by the American STEM magazine, are one of the most important forces that will change ways of thinking and living in the next fifty years,

 According to the Google Scholar classification, Qtaishat's research has received about 2,500 citations.

Dr. Qtaishat held a number of important positions, most notably Director of Research and Development at the Saudi Water Desalination Company, a visiting researcher at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Director of the Water, Energy and Environment Center at the University of Jordan, in addition to his work as an associate professor at the College of Engineering at the University of Jordan and the supervision of projects Students related to innovations and inventions.
