Arab Open University – Jordan Participates in National Workshop on the Accreditation of International Certificates
Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadi from the Faculty of Computer Studies at the Arab Open University – Jordan took part in a national workshop organized by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The workshop was held at the King Hussein Business Park.
Dr. Al-Wadi participated as a representative of the Faculty of Computer Studies, following an official invitation from the organizing bodies. The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, along with several experts and academics from various Jordanian universities.
The workshop focused on discussing the development of a new framework for accrediting international certificates as micro-credentials within accredited academic programs in Jordanian universities. This initiative comes in response to the rapid advancements in the higher education sector and the growing trend toward integrating global skills into university curricula.
Participants emphasized the importance of this direction in enhancing students’ opportunities by equipping them with globally recognized technical and professional skills — ultimately boosting graduate competencies and preparing them for both local and international job markets.
This participation reflects the Arab Open University – Jordan’s commitment to strengthening its academic presence and actively contributing to the development of educational policies in Jordan, particularly in fields directly related to digital transformation and innovation.
