​In recognition of the Arab Open University's efforts in serving the local community and developing areas of cooperation with active official entities, Prof. Tahrir Hamdi, University Director, welcomed Dr. Ali Al-Shawahin, Director of the Jordanian Special Olympics, and Ms. Faten Hassouna, Director of Initiatives at the Special Olympics. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Anas Ghazalat, Assistant Director of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Moayyad Homidi, Head of the University's Training and Community Service Center.

The discussion centered on enhancing social integration, increasing opportunities for sports and leadership programs for all students, regardless of their abilities, and creating inclusive communities. The importance of involving university students in seminars and committees that promote inclusive education and participation for individuals with disabilities in all community activities was also emphasized. The Director of the Special Olympics praised the active participation of the University's management and students in community service. He conveyed the appreciation and regard of His Royal Highness Prince Raad Bin Zeid, President of the Jordanian Special Olympics, for the University's distinguished educational role.
